SIO Robot skin

Making exsisting robots collaborative

Robots have the potential to solve big problems. They already assemble cars and explore planets far away, but are usually kept away from humans. What keeps robots from carrying moving boxes, assisting patients in physiotherapy, or helping children with their homework?

One answer is that they do not fully understand their surroundings and can potentially be harmful and unsafe to be around. This led my team and I to create SIO Robot Skin; a versatile physical interface that allows for organic and predictive interaction between human and machine.
